Mint Chocolate Puppy Chow (Print Version)

A delightful mix of Andes mints, chocolate chips, and Chex cereal coated in powdered sugar for an irresistible sweet treat.

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 1 Cup Andes Mints, roughly chopped
02 - 1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
03 - 1 Tablespoon salted butter
04 - 7 Cups Rice Chex cereal
05 - 2 Cups powdered sugar

→ Optional Mix-Ins

06 - Mint-flavored cookies, chopped
07 - Andes mint candies, or mint-flavored baking chunks
08 - Green M&Ms

# Steps:

01 - Place the chopped Andes Mints, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and salted butter in a large, microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high in the microwave for 30 seconds and then stir well. If any unmelted chocolate remains, continue heating in 10 to 15 second increments and stirring well until it is smooth and melted. Do not overheat.
02 - Add the Chex cereal and gently fold it until it is coated with chocolate.
03 - Sprinkle on ½ of the powdered sugar and shake the bowl as much as possible before adding the other ½ of the powdered sugar.
04 - Seal the bowl with a lid or wrap it well with aluminum foil, and then shake the bowl to combine the cereal and sugar until uniformly coated. Gently break up any clumps if needed and shake again.
05 - Spread the muddy buddies out on a large sheet of aluminum foil or parchment paper and allow them to set completely.
06 - When ready to serve, transfer to a large serving bowl and fold in any optional mix-ins you desire.

# Notes:

01 - Get creative: One of the fun things about this recipe is you can add anything you please, and that means any candies, nuts, dried fruits, chocolates, or cereals. You can make it slightly different each time.
02 - Make the sweetness pop: Add a little salt for contrast.
03 - Make extra: Don't underestimate how tasty mint chocolate puppy chow is – you're going to get through even a double batch quicker than you imagine!
