Christmas Crinkle Cookies (Print Version)

Festive red and green cookies with a powdered sugar coating that creates beautiful crinkle patterns when baked. A quick holiday favorite.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 box (13.25 ounces) white cake mix
02 - 2 eggs
03 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
04 - ⅓ cup vegetable oil
05 - Wilton red food coloring gel
06 - Wilton green food coloring gel
07 - ⅓ cup powdered sugar

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with a silicon baking mat or parchment paper.
02 - Mix eggs, oil, vanilla, and cake mix in a large bowl.
03 - Divide the dough into two equal amounts and place each in a small bowl.
04 - Add red food coloring to one bowl and green to the other. Start with a few drops, mix and if it's not the color you want, add one drop at a time to get the desired intensity.
05 - Mix each bowl until the color is fully incorporated into the dough. Use a spoon or your hands.
06 - Refrigerate dough for at least 30 minutes to make it easier to work with and for a fluffier texture.
07 - Using a medium cookie scoop to measure out the dough, roll each dough ball in powdered sugar and place on prepared baking sheet. If the dough is too sticky, add about one tablespoon of flour and work it in.
08 - Bake for 9-11 minutes at 375 degrees. Allow to cool for a minute or two on the baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack.
