# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 to 3 oranges (navel, cara cara, or blood oranges)
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 cups water
04 - 1 cup dark chocolate melting wafers
05 - Flaky sea salt (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
02 - Cut oranges into 1/4-inch slices, removing any seeds.
03 - Combine sugar and water in a wide, large skillet. Over medium-high heat, bring the mixture to a boil, whisking until the sugar has dissolved.
04 - Add orange slices in an even layer (you may need to cook in batches). Bring the liquid to a simmer and cook uncovered for approximately 1 hour, until the orange slices look transparent.
05 - Transfer orange slices to the prepared baking sheet. Allow them to dry uncovered for at least 24 hours. They will still be slightly sticky when done.
06 - Place chocolate melting wafers in a bowl and melt in 10-15 second microwave increments, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double-boiler over medium-low heat.
07 - Dip each slice halfway into the melted chocolate and return to the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with flaky salt if using.
08 - Allow chocolate to harden for at least 15 minutes before serving or storing.

# Notes:

01 - Store in an airtight container up to 5 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
02 - Milk chocolate or white chocolate can be substituted for dark chocolate.
03 - Tangy and sweet, these make fantastic holiday treats!
