# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 2 packages crescent rolls
02 - 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
03 - 16 ounces Jimmy Dean sausage (1 standard package)
04 - 1 medium onion, diced
05 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a saucepan, cook the sausage, diced onion, and garlic powder until thoroughly cooked through. Break up the sausage into small pieces while cooking.
02 - Drain excess fat from the sausage mixture and allow to cool slightly.
03 - Add the room temperature cream cheese to the sausage mixture. Mix with a spoon until well blended. Set aside.
04 - Open the first container of crescent rolls. Separate each crescent and cut in half to make two triangles.
05 - Fill each triangle with a teaspoon of the sausage and cream cheese mixture. Bring the sides of the crescent dough up and around the filling, pinching together to seal completely.
06 - Place the filled dough balls on a cookie sheet approximately 2.5 cm (1 inch) apart.
07 - Bake for 11-14 minutes or until the crescent is golden brown. The filling is pre-cooked so you're only baking until the dough is properly browned.
08 - Enjoy plain or with maple syrup drizzle or other preferred dipping sauce.

# Notes:

01 - These bites can be prepared a day ahead. Cook the sausage mixture with cream cheese, then cool. Wrap filling in dough, place on cookie sheet without touching, cover, and refrigerate. When ready to serve, bake in preheated 375°F oven for approximately 14 minutes until golden brown.
