Slice the cabbage into thick rounds (about 1/2-inch thick). Brush both sides with olive oil and place on the prepared baking sheet.

In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg (if using). Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.

Take a handful of the meat mixture and press it onto each cabbage slice, shaping it into a uniform patty.

Bake for 25 minutes until meat is cooked through.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle cheese evenly on top of each burger.

Switch oven to broil setting and cook for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly golden.
