Oreo Chocolate Peppermint Cookies (Print Version)

Gooey, chewy cookies packed with Oreo pieces, chocolate chips and crushed candy canes for the ultimate holiday indulgence.

# Ingredients:

→ Wet Ingredients

01 - 1/2 cup butter, softened
02 - 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
03 - 1/4 cup white sugar
04 - 1 egg, room temperature
05 - 1 tbsp vanilla extract

→ Dry Ingredients

06 - 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
07 - 1 tbsp cornstarch
08 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
09 - 1/4 tsp salt

→ Mix-ins

10 - 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
11 - 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
12 - 7 Oreo cookies, crushed

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, combine softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Cream together until well incorporated. You can use a spatula or an electric mixer for this step.
03 - Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and well combined.
04 - Add flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt to the mixture. Fold gently until a soft dough forms, being careful not to overmix.
05 - Fold in chocolate chips, crushed candy cane pieces, and crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
06 - Arrange 6 cookies per batch on the prepared baking tray. Bake for 13-14 minutes until the edges are crisp while centers remain soft and gooey. This is the perfect time to add any additional toppings if desired.
07 - Allow cookies to rest on the baking tray after removing from the oven as they will continue to bake from residual heat.

# Notes:

01 - These cookies are intentionally baked large to achieve a chewy, gooey center with crisp edges.
02 - The cookies will appear very soft in the center when done - this is normal as they will set while cooling.
