Goat Cheese Fig Pecan Spread (Print Version)

Creamy goat cheese baked with sweet fig jam and topped with balsamic, fresh herbs and toasted pecans for the perfect party appetizer.

# Ingredients:

→ Cheese Base

01 - 8 ounces goat cheese, softened to room temperature
02 - 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature

→ Toppings

03 - 1/2 cup fig jam
04 - 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
05 - 1/3 cup chopped pecans
06 - 2 tbsp chopped fresh thyme and rosemary

# Steps:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - In a mixing bowl, stir together goat cheese and cream cheese until thoroughly combined. Spread the cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of an oven-safe baking dish.
03 - Spoon the fig jam over the goat cheese, spreading it in an even layer.
04 - Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the top of the fig jam.
05 - Bake for 10-15 minutes until the fig jam is bubbling and hot.
06 - While the spread bakes, toast the chopped pecans in a dry pan over medium heat until fragrant and lightly browned.
07 - Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs and toasted pecans.
08 - Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with crostini, crackers or fresh vegetables.

# Notes:

01 - You can substitute walnuts, almonds or pistachios for the pecans if preferred.
