Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers (Print Version)

Juicy chicken skewers coated in a homemade garlic parmesan sauce, perfect as an appetizer or served over rice and vegetables.

# Ingredients:

→ Chicken Base

01 - 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs or breast
02 - 2 tbsp olive oil

→ Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce

03 - 1 stick butter
04 - 8-10 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
06 - 1 tbsp hot sauce
07 - 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
08 - 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced

→ Chicken Seasonings

09 - 2 teaspoons paprika
10 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
11 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
12 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
13 - 1/2 teaspoon pepper

# Steps:

01 - Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before beginning preparation.
02 - Combine chicken seasoning mixture in a small bowl. Cut chicken into 3-inch pieces and place in a large bowl or ziplock bag. Toss with olive oil and spice mixture until evenly coated.
03 - Thread chicken pieces onto skewers, packing tightly with no space between pieces to ensure maximum juiciness. If necessary, trim skewer ends to fit your air fryer.
04 - Combine butter and minced garlic in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until partially melted. Add red pepper flakes, hot sauce, parsley, and parmesan. Whisk until thoroughly combined. If sauce separates, add 1-2 tablespoons of softened butter and stir to re-emulsify.
05 - Reserve 2/3 of the sauce for final basting. Use the remaining 1/3 for basting during cooking to prevent cross-contamination. Always wash your basting brush between applications.
06 - Cook 2-3 skewers at a time in an air fryer at 200°C (400°F) for 5 minutes. Remove, flip, and baste with sauce. Return to air fryer for 2 minutes. Flip again, baste, and cook for final 5-6 minutes until internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F). Total cooking time is approximately 12-14 minutes, varying by air fryer model.
07 - Baste cooked skewers with reserved clean sauce and sprinkle with extra parmesan before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Serve as an appetizer or as a main course over rice with vegetables and extra garlic parmesan butter.
02 - For oven preparation: Preheat to 230°C (450°F). Place skewers on a foil-lined baking sheet and cook for 14 minutes, flipping halfway and basting throughout. Broil for 2 minutes to brown tops.
03 - For grill preparation: Preheat to medium-high. Cook skewers over direct heat for 5-6 minutes per side, basting throughout the process.
