Combine softened butter and powdered sugar in a bowl and mix until light and creamy.

Add flour and orange zest to the creamed butter mixture and combine thoroughly using a spatula.

Fold in chopped dried cranberries and mix to form a smooth, cohesive dough.

Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for one hour or until firm.

Remove chilled dough from refrigerator and let rest at room temperature for a few minutes. Preheat oven to 180°C.

Roll the chilled dough into 2.5 cm (1-inch) round balls and arrange on a lined baking tray.

Bake in preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until the bottoms of cookies are slightly browned.

Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. While still warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar.
