Cinnamon Butter Sweet Potato (Print Version)

Tender sweet potato cubes caramelized with cinnamon and maple butter for a simple, comforting side dish that pairs with almost any meal.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 1/2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes
02 - 6 tablespoons melted butter
03 - 1/4 cup real maple syrup
04 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
05 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
06 - Cooking spray

# Steps:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Coat a sheet pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking during baking.
02 - Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into 1-inch pieces.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and salt.
04 - Place the sweet potatoes in a single layer on the prepared sheet pan. Pour the maple butter mixture over the sweet potatoes. Use a spoon or your hands to toss the sweet potatoes, ensuring each piece is evenly coated with the butter mixture.
05 - Bake the sweet potatoes in the oven for 35 minutes. Stir the potatoes once halfway through the baking time to ensure even cooking and caramelization. The sweet potatoes should be tender and slightly caramelized when finished.
06 - Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and serve immediately as a delicious side dish.

# Notes:

01 - For the best caramelization, make sure to arrange the sweet potato cubes in a single layer on the baking sheet.
02 - Orange-fleshed varieties like Jewel or Beauregard sweet potatoes work best for this recipe.
03 - The sweet potatoes are done when a fork slides through easily without resistance.
04 - You can prepare the sweet potatoes up to 24 hours in advance - just keep them submerged in cold water in the fridge, then drain and pat dry before cooking.
