01 - Prepare the taco meat or protein according to your favorite method with taco seasoning.
02 - Chop all toppings including tomatoes, onions, avocado, and chilis or peppers.
03 - Assemble by placing a layer of tortilla chips or sliced sweet potato in the bottom of your foil pan or cast-iron skillet.
04 - Add a layer of your desired toppings, including a generous amount of cheese.
05 - Repeat the layering of chips and toppings until the pan is filled.
06 - Add a thick layer of cheese on the very top.
07 - Cover the pan with a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil and crimp it around the edges to seal.
08 - Place on a grate over a campfire or on a grill. Avoid placing directly over open flames to prevent burning the bottom.
09 - Cook until the cheese is completely melted and toppings are cooked and tender, approximately 15 to 30 minutes depending on fire/grill temperature.
10 - Carefully peel back a corner of the foil to check if the nachos are grilled to your liking.
11 - Remove the pan from heat and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Sweet potato slices can be substituted for tortilla chips for a healthier alternative.
